Systems for health and interprofessional collaboration

The Health Systems and Interprofessionalism Laboratory (LAB S21) focuses its activities on theorganisation of healthcare systems and collaborative practices amongst healthcare professionals, with the aim of supporting the evolution of healthcare systems towards more effective and coordinated models of care.

The laboratory’s work focuses in particular on the analysis and development of models of interprofessional collaboration, with a special emphasis on interactions between professionals and the organisational conditions that foster teamwork.

The laboratory also contributes to the development of educational initiatives and simulation projects designed to promote learning about interprofessional teamwork amongst the various healthcare professions.

Patient partners: agents of change

The S21 Laboratory recognises patient partners as key players in the development of effective healthcare systems and integrates them as such into its research and teaching activities. Drawing on their first-hand experience of care pathways, the laboratory values their expertise as a complement to that of healthcare professionals, helping to enrich analyses and steer projects towards concrete and meaningful issues. Patient partners are involved at various stages of the work, from design to the dissemination of results, thereby fostering more participatory approaches that are grounded in real-world practice. Through this commitment, the laboratory contributes to the development of healthcare systems that are more inclusive, collaborative and truly patient-centred.
