Vision and missions
SILAB is positioned as a leading academic research centre in French-speaking Switzerland in the fields of innovation and foresight in healthcare. Acting as a catalyst for knowledge, skills and reflective professional attitudes, it places students at the heart of its governance and recognises them as key players in the collective process.
SILAB focuses its work on two complementary missions:
To innovate by exploring and experimenting with emerging pedagogical and professional approaches that inspire and transform organisations, as well as healthcare practices
To anticipate change by developing a forward-looking approach and a reflective professional stance in the face of societal and technological developments, in order to shed light on emerging trends and prepare for the skills and practices of tomorrow
These missions complement the institution’s teaching and research. They are based on an approach centred on student engagement and are enriched by numerous collaborations with academic, clinical, institutional and private partners.
