La Source forms part of the national Open Access strategy, which aims to make the results of publicly funded research accessible. Publishing in Open Access, as defined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative, refers to digital, online scientific publications that are free of charge and free from most licence and copyright restrictions.
To increase the visibility of your work and ensure long-term access to your publications, the CEDOC team supports you at every stage of the scientific dissemination process.

ORCID
ORCID provides a unique, permanent identifier for each researcher. It prevents confusion arising from homonyms, name changes or cultural differences. This identifier simplifies administrative procedures (such as funding applications) and enables the automatic generation of lists of publications and datasets.
HES-SO encourages its researchers to create an ORCID (which takes just one minute). Existing identifiers (ResearcherID, Scopus Author ID, CrossRef) can be easily imported. When registering, please specify your affiliation (HES‑SO and your School) and authorise access to your profile for ‘trusted parties’, including HES‑SO.

Beware of predatory publishers
Researchers should be wary of predatory journals. These so-called scientific journals ask researchers to pay publication fees without providing the editorial services associated with legitimate scientific journals, such as peer review (whether open access or not).
